Please pray for Char this week. She just left on a short term missions trip up the coast. The team is going to a notorious party beach on spring break to talk to the kids there. They will set up a big tent and volleyball nets to make a place where people can play or pray.
Charla also asked that we pray for the kids at the base. Some are hitting the 2-3week wall of homesickness. They've also been praying about where God wants them to go on their missionary trip. Since we're all learning to listen to God, we know it's not always easy, but God helps us.

Here's a letter from my world-traveling daughter, Charla:
Hello Friends and Family,
In April of this year, my best friend and I decided to apply for a Discipleship Training School (DTS) through the Youth With a Mission (YWAM) international youth evangelism program. This school is based in Queensland, Australia, and is the third largest YWAM base in Australia. The DTS is a six-month program where we learn about God and do our individual art studies for the first three months. Then, from February 12-March 30, we go on a missionary trip to the surrounding areas of Australia or to various countries, going from town to town preaching the good news of Jesus Christ and helping those in need. YWAM's goal is to help us grow closer to God by understanding His nature and trying to live out His character.
In July, my friend and I were accepted into the school and started working as many summer jobs as possible to save up money for the many fees we were faced with. My friend was all set to go, but I still lacked in finances for the rest of my tuition money and an airplane ticket. Through God's grace and mercy, and the generous support of my church, I was able to pay off tuition fees and get an airplane ticket sitting right by my friend on both flights down to Brisbane. God is good!
I am now here in Australia learning about God and meeting young people from all over the world who have the same undying eagerness to learn more about our Heavenly Father. Even though I am here and enrolled in the art track of the Music Art and Dance DTS, I still need to raise $2,000+ in order to pay for the missionary trip.The deadline is Nov.25 for the deposit,and all remaining funds by the last week of January 2012. However, I am writing this letter not only to ask you for help with my finances, but especially for your support through prayer while I am in this foreign country seeking and living out God's plans for me. I will be attempting to write on my facebook page, Charla's YWAM Adventure, about how I am doing, but the Internet is unstable here, and I will not have much free time. I want to thank you again for all your prayers and donations. I will be keeping in touch with you while I continue on this life-changing journey as I learn more about who I am in Christ.

BreeAnna AND Charla are headed for Australia!
It began with BreeAnna telling Charla about her trip to Australia and Charla immediately wanting to join her. At some point, though, it went from being a great idea to a serious nudge from the Lord to go. As impossible as it seemed at the time, she began to believe she was supposed to go.
Sunday, donations were trickling in, but then, as often happens, a generous benefactor made up the difference and Charla will join her best friend, BreeAnna, on their seven month, missions training/vocational training trip, to Australia!
If she (they) could hug every one of you she would, but she wants you all to know how much she appreciates your generosity, and belief in her, to the point that you would invest in her and her future.
And this is where those of you who are praying and giving have been so vital. You've made it happen for Charla.
Charla still has need for spending money, and the optional missions outreaches during the seven months they will be there (about $2000), but she's getting on the plane, trusting that God will meet her every need, just as He has so far. (Click here to donate)

Charla is (almost) heading off to Australia!
When you were a kid, did anyone invest in you? Do you remember how excited you were when someone said they believed in you?
Charla is at the wall. She has the money for her tuition (over $4000.00) but she needs a plane ticket. She needs $2000.00, now.
No pressure. No hype. No pictures of Charla weeping with those big, sad eyes. She needs to get on the plane or it's a no-go.
Thank you to all who have blessed her so far. And a big thank you to those who respond to this call for help. This is the last one.

BreeAnna and Charla have been saving money for months for their YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Australia. Bree's fundraiser has gone well but things have been a little slow for Charla, and the deadline is within days! The need seems insurmountable so I'm coming to you, brothers and sisters, to see what you might do to help her.
Char is probably going to seriously hurt me when she finds out I emailed you but YWAM DTS is one of those times that changes a life, for all the right reasons, and in all the right ways. Bree and Char have helped out at church for literally years and Char needs your help now.
Charla needs about $4300 for her tuition, $2000 for her r/t plane ticket, $2000 for various outreaches while she's there and misc. funds. She has raised about twenty percent of what she needs, and our church will kick in some, but she still needs a sizeable amount to be able to go. What can you do to help her?
We believe in these two kids, and we'd love to see them get to go together, so Sandy and I are going to put in $500 to start things off.
